i had lots of fun during the maternity session for this cute couple.
it’s plain to see how much they are in love, and how much they are looking forward to welcome their little one in a few weeks, and start their life as a family! can’t wait to meet their little girl for our newborn session.

this morning i had a maternity session with a good friend of mine – a mere week before her due date!
i loved to capture her glowing like this, excited about the imminent arrival of her third little one. doesn’t she look absolutely stunning?!

oh, i remember all to well what these last few weeks feel like…
especially in the heat and humidity of singapore!
nevertheless, this glowing mom-to-be was full of energy during our maternity session (especially while the fan was blowing her way… ;)).
the little stuffed dog was the first gift that she gave him in their relationship – it was already part of their wedding photos, so of course we had to feature it during the maternity shoot as well. it’s bound to be one of the first favourite toys of their little girl soon! :)

first of all: how beautiful is this nursery??!!!
it is so exquisitely decorated, with so much attention to the tiniest detail, that you can really feel the love with which it was done.
this is one lucky baby to wake up every morning in such a beautiful room!
and now on to the pregnancy q&a with mom and dad:
describe the moment you first found out you were pregnant.
we were at the beginning of a wine trip in burgundy with good friends, and i tested positive on my pregnancy test.
we were stunned and overjoyed, even though it meant no wine drinking on our wine tasting trip!

your favourite part of your pregnancy?
all of it! the kicks, the growing baby and belly, even the less pleasant parts – it’s all part of our miracle baby growing inside me.

i hope that we can be there with her throughout all her life’s milestones, little or large.
what was the weirdest ‚pregnancy side effect‘ that you experienced?
baby brain is real!!!
this precious little girl was very excited to become a big sister!
and very well prepared she was, too: reading books about the new addition to the family, initiating the first contact (with the help of yoghurt cups and string), and giving lots of belly hugs… adorable!
by now her little brother has arrived – watch out for the newborn session on the blog! :)

the time of your pregnancy is such a special time, it should be celebrated!
this beautiful, radiant mom-to-be decided to do just that – with a solo-maternity session in addition to this couple’s maternity session.
the session was supposed to be a surprise for her husband, which did not quite work out in the end (see here), so we took a few images with him, and then he was thrown out of the apartment… ;)
but the resulting images were a big surprise of course, when he saw the online slideshow for the first time, and i’m sure he was blown away by his wife’s gorgeousness :-) i think when looking at the images, you can really tell that she did in fact cherish every moment of this pregnancy!

describe the moment you first found out you were pregnant.
my doctor called me in the afternoon, after i did a blood test that morning, and told me the result was positive: pregnant!
i couldn’t say anything and just hung up. two minutes later, i started jumping around the apartment – only to stop dead in my tracks again: jumping was probably not a good idea for the next 9 months…

watching the little man bounce around during the first big ultrasound – he just wouldn’t keep still to be measured!

we are so looking forward to the moment when he will walk in our middle, holding our hands,
and on the count of three we’ll swing him up into the air!
phew, i’m having a busy month… i’m currently doing a round of preschool photography and for the past 2 1/2 weeks i’ve been taking pictures of gorgeous kiddos every morning. :) this morning was the last class – and while there’s still lots of editing ahead of me, today it felt very good to take a little break from the kiddos and focus on editing some images from this beautiful maternity session: aren’t these two a gorgeous couple?!
